Vovlo 280 Outdrive w-Chevy 350 V8; Exhaust Y-pipe & O-ring Replacement?

I have a 1985 Volvo Penta AQ260 (350 V8) and have removed the drive to replace all rubber bellows and hoses, incl. the the (2) rubber water exhaust hooks as they're called. I have removed the (4) bolts that hold the exhaust y-pipe inplace and have pulled the rubber exhaust hooks. To reinstall them, I have to pry the inboard y-pipe off and replace the o-rings, rubber exhaust water hooks, and replace the (4) bolts. Do I have to remove the engine to get full access to the base of the y-pipe or can I just slide it foward beneath the engine with the engine in place? Thanks, Chris

Not sure exactly what advise it is that you really want. But when replacing speakers you have to keep in mind that round speakers are not going to distort as much as let say a 6x9. A 6x9 or 5x7 say when the b is being produced and the woofer is being extended the speaker will tend to twist compared to a round speaker. I would say buy a round speaker that will fit the opening that already exists in the car. If you ever want to sell the car you can buy cheaper speaker and take the good ones with you to your next car.

My dad said I wasn't wrong but that my statement was "politically incorrect". Call me cynical, but I see life as a triangle. Some are on top, some are on bottom, and everyone else is in the middle. I mean, everyone can't be the next Obama. Someones got to be the next janitor or cashier. Take the iPhones for example. When they first came out and people started buying them, was it a cool thing because it was the most brilliant thing in thing in the whole world and made life a million times better? No. It was mainly because some people could afford them and others could not. The thing that makes something a trend's center is that not everyone could get it or be it. If everyone in America had $500 million dollars, $500 million dollars wouldn't be considered rich anymore since things like that are supposed to separate the haves from the have nots which would be defeating the purpose. I mean no matter what happens, there will always be that tip on the triangle that a certain amount of people will not be able to reach. I shake all the time, could it be serious ?

From a very young age, i have always had "the shakes". When i was 10-ish i noticed that i shook after doing any kind of sporting activities, but stop after an hour or so of resting, The shaking mainly affected my legs. Back then i didn't think much of it and i ignored it. With time it gradually progressed to other parts of my body and the shaking was noticeably jerky. At 16 i confronted my doctor about it and he sorta dismissed it as a fine tremor, i am 17 now and i have jus noticed that the shaking is no longer triggered by sport alone but by normal day-to-day movements. I'm clean i.e. no drugs and drink and i'm very active and im not overweight. Though i exercise etc, i feel a rather constant sensation of weakness in my joints and have noticed that "normal" things now take more effort. Fluent movements are a thing of the past, i'll try and elaborate: Say i wanted to stretch my hand out, the movement feels like a progression of jerks. any ideas on what it could be? cheers in advance

No it will harden. I think the best thing to use is sand. Its expensive but it lasts a long time and it is great, because when its wet it drains properly. I think if you call owners of beach's the might give you a good deal on beach sand. But it might have to many rocks in it. Go for sand, never dust.

There is also no difference in industries. Just knowing chem "separates the men from the boys"; you can pick up a lot of chem OTJ or in personal study, but what have you lost or given up? I am an STNA at a long term care facility. Here lately some bad luck has been on my side. On Easter Sunday a co-worker and I was transferring a resident, my foot was twisted up with the residents foot and before I could say something I fell. The resident wasn't hurt as I cushioned her fall. The same day I forgot to put the mat back on the floor after feeding a resident and she fell out of bed. A month later I am having gall bladder problems and not feeling myself, today at work while transferring a resident off of the toilet and back into her chair she lost her balance and hit her head on the wall and busted it open and had a huge knot. Vet advice about acne on a dog?

Question about bug bombing my house

As a teacher of violin, I find someone with a good knowledge of music will go much faster in the beginning than someone who has no knowledge of music. Hope this helps. I have a pinguecula. What are my removal options?

A pinguecula developed on my right eye a few days after I was born. I am now sixteen years old and I would LOVE to have it removed. My pinguecula is very large, red, and swollen all the time. It often appears to cover the entire white of my eye. Several inflamed veins run near and on the pinguecula. It hurts, itches, bothers me daily. I often feel like there is a small foreign object in my eye. Kind of like a piece of dust or sand sometimes. Drops do help, but I can't just use then all the time. No doctor, ophthalmologist, optometrist, or eye surgeon has ever given my parents a straight answer regarding what will happen to it in the future or whether I will eventually be able to have it removed. My parents had my eye examined by my pediatrician when they first noticed the pinguecula. She sent my to an optometrist who diagnosed it as a benign "freckle". Optometrist recommended laser removal before puberty, at which time the pinguecula may turn brown, she warned. It has never changed colors, although did grow by about a millimeter during puberty. A few years ago, I started seeing an ophthalmologist, who told me that it is a dermiod, and that laser removal for such a thing did not exist. Furthermore, surgical removal may damage the eye and potential for re-growth is high. The pinguecula partially touches my iris. As a result, no pediatric eye surgeon will even see me, let alone give me a consultation. I have beautiful eyes, and I would love for someone to be able to look me in the eye without asking "oh, do you have pink eye?" or "Dear, what happened to your eye?" It's never really bothered my, and I'm used to it, I'm more self confident than that, but it's getting old. All my life, since pre-school, i've answered very politely, "oh, it's no big deal. I was born with it. It's like a freckle, except in my eye. No I can't see it." I'm just wondering if anyone has had removal surgery, and what was the outcome. Please let me know! Thanks!

BSA Tactical Mil-Dot scope?

I own a very similar BSA scope. It's very accurate and has no problem holding zero, but the lens quality is crap. Everything has a slight blur to it, and if the light is just right, you can see that there's dust all over the INSIDE of the lenses. The difference between my Nikon and BSA is like night and day. Can you sue a previous homeowner for not disclosing damages or repairs that had been done?

I have lived in my house for 5 years in August 2009. I had an inspection done and it ped. There was a large crack in the exterior wall that had been repaired but they provided a report from a structural engineer that the foundation was ok. I have been having trouble with this side of my house since I moved in. The walls are cracking both inside and out. I have had two slab leaks. When remodeling the laundry they removed a wall and found plastic tubing all over in it that ran through the attic. Due to the vaulted ceiling the inspector may not have seen it when he inspected the attic. Anyhow, what it was was a slab leak repair. This was NOT disclosed in the Seller's Disclosure agreement. Also when they took up the linoleum in the bathroom and when I had a serious ant problem I was told that there was evidence of termites and treatment had been done. This was also not disclosed. I was VERY picky when buying this house and thought I hired the best of the best. If I would have known that there had been a slab leak I would have possible not bought the home. The people who owned the home before me were the only owners. They had the home built for them so they were the only ones who could have had these repairs done. What can I do?

What's a good starter fertilizer for evergreens?

I've got 50 thuja green giant seedlings that are 15~20 inches tall and in 3" pots. The soil here has alot of clay and rock in it. I planned on digging out a "milk jug" sized hole for each seedling and filling it with some good garden soil, then planting the evergreens in the good soil. What's a good fertilizer blend to add? I have a 5 gallon bucket of urea (46-0-0) in my garage, along with a bucket of DAP (18-48-0) and potash (0-0-60). I'd rather use what I have instead of purchasing something.

How do i repair my heater? worked fine til someone stole my stereo.?

I think before you start worrying about plot and sequence of events, you have to build your zombies (ok, maybe you have, but you didn't tell US). Sci-fi/fantasy depends on worldbuilding, and how the zombies act, what their capabilities are, will depend on their nature. Are they supernatural, technological, fast, slow? What's their un-lifecycle? Do they starve? What 'kills' them? What caused them to exist and can that be reversed? The answers to these questions will start you on the new direction you seek. You might plot out what's been done before and do stuff differently. For example, zombies have traditionally been vulnerable to decapitation. What if these were vulnerable to something completely different, like, say -- tobacco smoke?

I would suggest putting up a privacy fence. They aren't really that expensive. They generally come in 4 ft or 8 ft sections that are 8 ft tall. It really does help keep neighbors from seeing in to your yard or home. You could probably do a 100 ft long section between your homes for between $200 and $300. And they don't look bad at all.

Speeding ticket help?

I just got a speeding ticket for 72 at a 45 expressway, but is impossible since it was a heavily traffic area going to work and for going on a ping lane for a few seconds because a slow car was merging to expressway and the car on the left of me was almost to the side of my car. I know I sped but this is exaggerating. I think the cop was pissed that I wanted to pull over to my work's parking lot because it was around the corner. I want to fight the speed, but not say not guilty because I actually did speed, but to reduce my ticket. Tell me the process. I can also go to traffic school and I live in Northern California. Need help deciding Galveston or Port Aransas???

My family and are planning a trip to the beach. Every year we go to Port A. This year I wanted to go to Galveston (never been) because a ccording to the internet there is more to do there(sights and attractions). There is nothing to do at Port A. but the gift shops. I am getting a lot of feed back that Galveston is not a good place to go(well the beach). Here is a list of my itenerary- Stewart Beach, Colonel paddlewheel boat,Rainforest Cafe,Moody Gardens -Juric adventure, Moody Gardens "beach"(not sure what that is). There is nothing like this in Port A. we'll have to go to Corpus C. to find something to do but like I said been there year after year we have pretty much seen everything. Why do people feel it's any of their business when a teenager is pregnant?

Well if they come on here and say "OMG...I'm pregnant and I don't know what to do" or "I'm pregnant and I'm proud of it" it's like you obviously are not mature enough to have a baby and your stupid. But just seeing a pregnant girl on the street that is not shouting it off of rooftops or is in the store excitingly buying her baby clothes and toys then no I don't think bad of them. I actually really respect them for having the baby whether they keep it or give it up for adoption. You are right though, people are very judgemental and that was very rude of that lady who did that to your friend, and she def. got what was coming to her...lol.

Sharp, shooting pains in uterus?

I've been getting very sharp pains in my uterus that almost feels like lightening (it's the only way I can think to describe it) shooting through me in bursts rather than a continuous pain. At first it wasn't so painful, it was more annoying, but now it seems like it's getting worse. Usually it only happens when I'm sleeping or laying down. It happened once while I was at work, and I had to sit down to get it to stop. It lasted about 5 minutes or so, and every time I stood up it would come back. Last night I kept dreaming that I was in pain, and I would wake up and have to roll over on my side in the fetal position to get it to stop (from laying on my back). I'm not positive about this, but I think it only happens when I'm on or around my period, being a week before or after. It's a little scary, and I'm going in for a PAP Smear next week, so I'll tell my doctor about it, but for now I just need to know if anyone else has experienced this before. Also, I'm not pregnant, and I'm taking the birth control called Yasmin, if that helps.

Some people, like me, have several they use - so, you might answer a question that has an innocent looking avatar - but the next day, that avatar might be different. Any better cures for extreme social anxiety?

Best cure in my opinion is to go out and do something rather than just medication. No matter how small, just take things one step at a time. Do things you are uncomfortable with and do them until you are fairly comfortable and then more on to something that makes you feel that bit more anxious. If you really need medication continue with what you already have been given by the doctor and, along with doing the steps, hopefully you'll learn to control it and feel better about doing things.

Is it okay if i eat subway after a stomachache?

So, I've been having some stomach aches not bad enough to go to a doctor. I've been eating toast or peanut er sandwiches with small sips of gatorade. My stomach's been finally feeling a lot better it actually doesnt even hurt at all, but im not sure if im fully recovered it feels like it did but still not sure.Well can you tell me if its okay because i just ate it with some strawberries and apples my stomach doesnt hurt yet it feels just fine. The subway sandwich was about idk liek 4-5 in. long and about 2-3 in. wide. My regular diet is usually kimpap (an asian food that is technically sushi with just the seaweed and rice) or some kind of asian soup idk wat is call in english.Will it be okay to eat what i regularaly eat when my stomach doesnt hurt? My stomachache only lasted for about 4 days and was caused because i was disgusted but im used to it so not really disgusted anymore. I would consider myself not very healthy although i eat fruits at the end of the day expamples of fruits: watermelons,gs, strawberries (sometimes sprinkled in sugar, melons,blueberries, and sometimes a smoothie with bananas, strawberries, blueberries, and orange juice.I exercise for about 2-4 hours, sometimes i eat vegetables, and i only eat chips like hot cheetos, lays, doritos, etc once in a while like 4 - 1 month. Ford Explorer Overdrive Problem?

The best thing to do is take it to your dealer or a reputable transmission shop and have them do a diagnostic scan on it. There will be a code stored that will help with the diagnosis. Off the top of my head I have seen a few solenoids go bad in these transmissions and cause the blinking light, but it could be torque converter clutch or a speed sensor concern as well. Take it in for repairs.
