I'm Not A Poser-Author :( I Need Plot Help!?

I think before you start worrying about plot and sequence of events, you have to build your zombies (ok, maybe you have, but you didn't tell US). Sci-fi/fantasy depends on worldbuilding, and how the zombies act, what their capabilities are, will depend on their nature. Are they supernatural, technological, fast, slow? What's their un-lifecycle? Do they starve? What 'kills' them? What caused them to exist and can that be reversed? The answers to these questions will start you on the new direction you seek. You might plot out what's been done before and do stuff differently. For example, zombies have traditionally been vulnerable to decapitation. What if these were vulnerable to something completely different, like, say -- tobacco smoke?
